The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) are excited to announce that the 11th Annual Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress will take place in Aqaba, Jordan, from October 7 to 9, 2025. This prestigious event will bring together top global wedding professionals, showcasing Jordan’s growing reputation as a premier destination for luxury weddings.
The congress will feature over 400 participants from more than 70 countries, including luxury wedding planners, designers, photographers, and suppliers. The event is a leading B2B platform for the destination wedding industry, offering a perfect opportunity to explore Jordan’s wedding tourism potential.
The global wedding market, valued at $30.7 billion in 2023, is projected to reach $253.3 billion by 2032, reflecting the increasing popularity of destination weddings. Jordan is poised to capture a larger share of this growing market by offering unique wedding experiences, such as beachfront ceremonies along the Red Sea, romantic celebrations under the stars in Wadi Rum, historical settings in Petra, and serene events by the Dead Sea.
Hamza Haj Hasan, Deputy Chief Commissioner for Economic Development and Tourism at ASEZA, highlighted the significance of the event in elevating Aqaba’s standing in the global meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry. The opening of the Aqaba International Exhibition Center in September 2024 will further strengthen the city’s capacity to host large-scale events like the DWP Congress.
